Last night as I was sitting in the D.C. Temple, I was reflecting on my many blessings. My heart was so full of gratitude, I was overcome with emotion. It was so wonderful to be there with Bart. I sure love that man. My thoughts went to my family and friends....both here and so many that are far away. I was missing everyone so much and I was needing to feel some lovin'...and I felt it. It was a fabulous night in the Temple.
On the way home, traffic started getting heavy and all of a sudden, red brake lights were everywhere. The car next to us on the right was going so fast. He slammed on his brakes...screeching tires, burning rubber...and you could see he was going to slam into the car in front of him. He jerked the wheel to the left and I could see he was coming right for us. He was going to hit us right by my side view mirror. I instinctively screamed and huddled away from my door in the fetal position, waiting for expected crash. It never came. There was just quiet as we skidded to a stop. Bart and I were breathing quickly, staring at each other, not understanding what had happened. Somehow, that car never hit us. Angels surely lifted either him or us away from what could have been a horrible accident, with us right in the middle of it. As it happened, there was a bad accident...involving at least three other cars, but we weren't one of them. After taking a deep breath, we started off again. Heading home, safe and sound, to our five children. We couldn't believe it. A prayer of gratitude escaped our lips. We received a major blessing very quickly after leaving the Temple. We are incredibly grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who protected us. There is no other explanation.
