Spring Break-Arlington Cemetery

I know it's crazy, but we've never been to the Arlington Cemetery. It was amazing! The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider was so reverent and solemn. I'm so glad the kids were able to go have that experience. Soldiers sacrifice so much for our country. Cole loved the mansion and the flame burning at JFK's headstone. Overall, it was a patriotic day for our family as we learned more about our country's history.

Spring Break-Gravelly Point Park

Gravelly Point is super fun. The planes from Reagan National Airport fly right over your head. There is lots of space to run and play, so we made a morning of it...taking lots of things to play with. Makenna didn't like the planes flying so close to her head, but all the other kids loved it. It was chilly but fun!

Spring Break-National Harbor-The Awakening Statue

This statue was closer to us for a long time, but was moved to MD. It was fun to go climb on it again. If you haven't seen this before...look closely...it's a man coming out of the ground...

Spring Break-Hershey, PA

Great day at Hershey Park! The amusement park portion of it wasn't open, but we had a great time doing the chocolate tour of the factory and the trolley ride around the city. Mr. Hershey was an incredibly giving man. It was so interesting to learn about his life and all he did to give to others and better the community. LOVED the wrapped and unwrapped hershey kiss street lights! We also, randomly, saw Herbie (Love Bug) while driving in PA. The kids loved all the treats in the shop. After Gettysburg and Hershey in one day, the kids were passed out by the time we pulled into our driveway! Super fun day! (Cole was being especially silly in all the pictures that day.) :)

Spring Break-Gettysburg

We had a great time at Gettysburg. I've wanted to go there since we moved here! The history is so interesting. We got to see the train station that Abe Lincoln used to come do the Gettysburg Address. We found Stratton Street! Pretty cool! Cole, especially, loved learning about the part Gettysburg played in our U.S. History.
