Ms. Makenna

These pictures pretty much sum up Makenna's life right now. I can't believe how much she sleeps..even at 3 weeks old. I have to work really hard to wake her to eat. She is sleeping for 3 or 4 hour stretches at night, so I guess I can't complain to much! We loved having my Mom here to help and I had a healthy dose of reality when she left! Good thing for an amazing husband and great kids that are willing to help out their sleep deprived (and sometimes grumpy) wife and Mom! :)

First Bath

Makenna's cord fell off yesterday... the fastest of all our kids. Bart has always given our babies their first bath and he decided to do Makenna's first bath last night. We got ready for the crying that was bound to happen! She did great and after getting lotioned, dressed and snuggled....slept for 4 hours!

1 Week Old

I can't believe a whole week has passed since Makenna was born! She is a champ! Makenna is a great sleeper and eater. She is very loved and everyone still asks to hold her all the time. Makenna has brought a very special spirit into our home and we are so grateful for her!

Grandma R.

We are SO excited to have Grandma R. staying with us for the next week to help us out. The kids have been counting down the days of her arrival. Here they are making cupcakes!

Makenna Joy

Makenna was born Wednesday morning at 1:29 a.m. We left for the hospital at 12:30 and she was born less than an hour later. To say it was a speedy delivery, would be an understatement. There was no time for an epideral...and since Makenna came out face up, the delivery was quite painful. We are grateful that she is healthy and that everything turned out well. Here are some pictures.... in no particular order. We are enjoying every minute with our sweet baby girl!

Exercise

This is Kelsey's favorite pastime.... Dad pushing her up and down the driveway on a bike. I'm not sure it's Bart's favorite pastime.....

Huntley Meadows

Last week, we went with some friends to Huntley Meadows. I had heard about it, but hadn't been there before. It is forest and wetlands. Very pretty. We saw several different types of bugs and animals. Jayda and Kelsey had a great time.

Girls Night In!

Last Friday night was the Father/Son Campout for our ward. So, naturally, we needed to have an all girl party! We invited some friends and had a ball. After dinner, everyone got into their pj's, watched Barbie and the 12 Princesses and painted our fingers and toes! Such a great time!

Biking

On Saturday, Bart took the older kids out on a bike ride. They all had a great time, although they about melted!
