Sweet Makenna

Cutie Pie Makenna is growing like a weed. She loves baby food, especially prunes and sweet potatoes, is sitting up like a champ, has cut her first tooth, loves smiling at her siblings and has started to giggle.

Happy 5th, Jayda!!

Jayda has been counting down to her birthday for several weeks! Jayda changed things up with how she wanted to spend her special day. Instead of a party, Jayda opted to take Sadie and two friends to get their nails done and to get a shake. Those four girlies had the best time together! Today, she wanted to go play at the indoor playland at the mall, ride the train and have lunch at Chick Fillet. Jayda chose lemon pie...instead of a cake or cupcakes. Overall, I think she had a super few days. We love our sweet Jayda so much!

Here are some pictures from the last week. The weather started getting warmer, which called for a egg carton lunch picnic on the deck. Jayda loved her teacher in gymnastics and wanted a picture on her last day. Static!!

Unfortunately, this year, there was nothing pretty to get pictures by. Everything is still brown and leafless. So, we did the best we could. Poor Cole...his arms got so tired holding chubby Makenna while we tried to get a picture with everyone looking at the camera. It seems like it gets harder every year! :)

Happy 9th, Cole!!

Cole had a great birthday! It is Spring Break, plus Bart was home today. We went to the Reston Zoo (pictures to come later). It was fun but freezing cold! We all were excited to get back to our warm card. Cole's favorite gifts were a new bike and a Fat Head Monster Truck for his bedroom wall. Cole chose a sports cake and rainbow sherbet to end his grilled meal. The surprises started 9 years ago when our son was born, instead of the foretold girl. We are SO grateful for Cole. He is such a light in our family and we sure are lucky to have him!

Stitches!!

Jayda and Cole were playing a game with a balloon yesterday before school....hitting it back and forth, trying to make sure it didn't hit the ground. Well, instead of the balloon hitting the ground, Jayda's face did. After much screaming and blood, we found the cut on her chin. Thank goodness Grandpa had arrived for a visit. He got the older kids off to the bus and then watched the two younger kids while I took Jayda to get stitches! These are our first stitches...not bad after 9 years of kiddos. Jayda was a champ! She was SOOO brave, doing much better than her Mom! I had to look away several times, getting sick to my stomach and light headed. I don't handle this kind of stuff very well. A couple hours later (why is the wait always SO long?!) she came away with 4 blue stitches. Our sweet friends brought flowers, cookies and a homemade card for Jayda after we got home. Their daughter, G, had just gone through this experience a couple months ago...her owie was between her eyes. She and Jayda are "stitch buddies" now.
