Happy 1st Birthday, Makenna!

Wow! Where did the year go?! Reflecting back on this day last year... had first contraction at 10:45pm..Makenna was born at 1:15am, no epideral, face up. Awesome. Good thing she has been a wonderful baby and worth the horrible pregnancy and pain of the delivery! :) We had a great day today! Started with opening some fun gifts, went apple picking at the farm, and ended the day with Makenna's favorite...mac & cheese. We served up some chocolate cupcakes, which Makenna had a couple bites of, then was done! But, she loved making a mess! We love you, sweet Makenna!

Gymnastics!

Kelsey has been waiting for a long time to start gymnastics. She started this week and is SUPER excited! We love this happy girl!

Montpelier Farm

We went with some friends to experience Montpelier Farm and had a great time! It was super hot, but there was lots of fun things to do...hay ride, lassoing, corn crib to play in corn kernals, pedal carts, cute area to watch "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" movie (which my kids love)... and everything is better ending it eating ice cream! They also had a cute store where we bought fresh cider, freshly picked apples, homemade apple butter and raspberry pancake syrup. Great company, great farm, great day!

Makenna

Can't believe this little munchin is turning 1 this month! What fun she is! We just love her. She is definitely walking more than crawling...climbing...laughing...dancing...play hide-n-seek...hugs and kisses...loves story time

First Day of School!

So, school started today! It was a bit easier than it's been in years past for me. I got teary-eyed saying good-bye to Jayda...I would've been a complete mess but she has the teacher that Cole and Sadie both had for Kindergarten and we all just adore her. I knew she would take good care of Jayda and I knew Jayda would be ok because she knew her teacher already. Kelsey is doing a pre-school/Joy School twice a week with a group from my ward, so this morning, for a couple hours, I only had Makenna. Wow, that was weird...in a good way. I think I'll be able to enjoy that block of time. hehe 4th Grade, 2nd Grade, Kindergarten....here we come!!

V.I.P Week!

One of the best parts of the summer.... Very Important Person (VIP) Weeks! It is one of the favorite parts of summer for our kiddos. We love our kids and are happy that each of them are part of our family!

Jersey

Some friends of ours moved to New Jersey...they invited us to visit. This was especially daring for me because it was just the kids and I and I don't like driving very much. I can make it about 3 hours before falling asleep. Yes, even when I'm driving. So, I was a bit nervous... but, we made it there and back without any major problems! We had a fabulous visit. Our kiddos match up in age and had a great time together. We went to see the Statue of Liberty, which was awesome. I reminded the kids how lucky they were to see her....something I only dreamed about while growing up. They were impressed and especially loved the audio tour that they carried with them while we were inside the base and walking around the outside. Fun trip!

More Makenna

Makenna is great at standing up wherever she is. She also gets into everything. Somehow, she got wrapped up in a bag and was so confused as to why she couldn't move.

11 Months!

Makenna is such a joy! We love her SO much! She is very close to walking...has taken 8 steps on her own. Makenna's 7th tooth is about to come through, she loves to giggle and is a Daddy's girl for sure!
