It's been a couple years since we went downtown to see the cherry blossoms. I think we missed the peak blossoms by 2 days, but it was still beautiful! Windy, but gorgeous!

Running/My Hero, My Mom

Today I ran a 5K. It was a run to raise money for MS (multiple sclerosis), which is what my Mom has. Mom is amazing! Never complains, even as she deals daily with struggles related to her disease. Mom is my hero. While pregnant with my oldest daughter, I knew that I wanted her middle name to be JoAnn. If Sadie could grow up to have qualities like her Grandma, I knew she would turn out to be an amazing person. I ran the race with my friend, Melissa, who is such a wonderful person. We kept each other going...talking a bit about Mom and dedicating the race to her. I couldn't help hearing Mom saying "Shanna, run a mile for me!" She always says that to me when she knows I'm running! :) I love you, Mom!
