Happy Pioneer Day!

Growing up, my Mom helped us make the best memories celebrating Pioneer Day on July 24. We would dress up like pioneers, cowboys, etc. and Mom would have different things set up for us to do....sewing a button, hammering nails, sawing a log, shaking cream to make butter and she would always make Brigham Young's Buttermilk Donuts. I love you, Mom!! This year, the kids and I decided to start making our own memories. I think their favorite part was shaking the cream and watching the butter appear, although they also really loved eating the donuts.

Shanna,

Fun--I was doing the same thing today for the first time. Your family always has some fun traditions--Lucky I'm apart of it now. It was fun to look through your blog. You are such a good mom!! It looks like you have been doing so many fun things.
Sure love you (don't worry I would have done the same thing with the mouse--your a better person for being sad about it).
love, Jill

That is the sweetest tradition. We may just borrow that one. Any excuse for donuts, I'm in.

We loved eating the donuts too! Thanks for bringing some to us! My kids seriously devoured them and I salvaged a few for myself. I would've eaten more, but I am trying to watch my pregnant figure :)or, maybe I'm just trying to watch the pregnant heart burn:)
You're the best Shanna!
