Just wanted to let you know I'm still gathering books for the 24 day wrap, unwrap-n-read in December. I'm planning on posting my final list of suggestions sometime in October. Now that it's starting to cool down a tad outside, I'm getting super excited for the holiday season. I think part of that excitement stems from celebrating the holidays in our own home this year! I would love to hear about some of your favorite traditions, as we will be initiating some new ones this year.

You and I must have been thinking the same thing today seeing that our posts are almost identical! Too funny - must be the same weather.
We have always read a Christmas story around the tree every year. The wrapping part will be new. We also have a box of candy and everyone gets to pick one while we read. We also play an ornament game every Christmas Eve after we read the nativity and sing songs. I buy ornaments and then wrap them in cellophane (so you can see them) and then we roll a dice and if you get a designated number you pick an ornament. They can be stolen twice. The kids each have a small tree in their rooms with all of their own ornaments on them. Then we let the kids find their new pajamas by flashlight hidden somewhere in the house. Before the girls go to bed we leave cookies for Santa and sprinkle reindeer food outside.
