Cole's Special Day!

I can hardly believe that Cole is 4! Where does the time go? He had kind of an extended birthday this year, with a get together with some friends a couple days after his actual birthday. He loves to tell people he is 4. He picked out the monster truck cake and with alot of Daddy's help, Mom pulled off the second birthday cake this month. He especially loves his bike and huge dump truck. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! We love our friends and family that take care of us!

Cole's 4th Birthday!

Sadie and Cole

We got some musical instruments and they have become a favorite past time of Sadie. She loves singing made up songs while playing various instruments. It is very entertaining to watch. Cole just finished up his gymnastics class. He really loved it and was sad to say good-bye (for now) to his coach. They had a little presentation at the end of the course and Cole got a ribbon. He thought that was pretty cool.

White House Easter Egg Roll

We had a once in a lifetime experience to attend the White House Easter Egg Roll (I'll attach a link if you want to read more about this long time tradition). It was so fun! You had to have tickets in order to attend, entering the south lawn of the White House (the young men in our ward camped out the night before to stand in line for tickets). There were lots of different activities, including the egg race where the kids used long spoons to roll the egg from the start line to the finish line. They had several PBS characters walking around, the Jonas Brothers performed, there were famous people and authors there to read books, egg decorating, an easter egg hunt, face painting, magicians, etc. Bart was able to join us, which made it even more fun for the kids and easier for me! By the end of the experience, I was limping around. :)

Easter 2008

We had a great Easter holiday this year. The kids loved coloring eggs, finding their baskets and especially eating the candy (as you can see with their full mouths in the first picture). Sadie loves getting dressed up in her "pretty dresses" each week for church so I'm attaching the picture we took Easter morning before church.

Cole and Sadie

I just thought I would post a couple random pictures from the past week. We participated in an Easter Egg Hunt through our play group at church yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Sadie didn't quite get what was so exciting about finding eggs...until she opened one and saw that it was full of jelly beans!

Potty Training

Sadie started potty training on Monday. It's been quite the week. Monday was a nightmare that we won't talk about, but every day has been lots better. She loves flushing the toilet and putting her big girl underwear back on. She gets to pick a sticker each time she goes potty and put it on a chart. I thought these pictures were really sweet. Cole has been a huge cheerleader for Sadie this week. She wanted someone to read to her this morning while she went potty...Cole volunteered and they had a great time. Then, he got down with her to watch her pick out her sticker. They both clapped and cheered after she put the sticker on the chart. We are so proud of Sadie and her accomplishments this week! As of Wednesday morning, she has had no accidents! She is our big girl!

Sadie's 2nd Birthday!

Sadie had a super birthday. She loved opening presents and really loved her cake...especially eating all the candy off of it. I'm attaching a couple of pictures and then will eventually have a slide show (when I figure out how to do that) showing the rest. Her favorite presents were a Dora back pack and her pink purses. She's been wearing them nonstop since Thursday. I was pretty excited about how the cake turned out...since it was my first coconut cut out cake. If it's possible, it made me appreciate my Mom even more....making 10 of those a year for us kids couldn't have been easy!
