National Zoo

We were able to go to the zoo with my friend, Jana, and her two kids. It was a lot of fun. Even after all we saw, I think the favorite part of the day for the children was at the end when we sat on a huge section of grass, ate lunch and the kids just ran around with each other and other kids that were there!

Sleeping Girl

Jayda keeps getting bigger and more fun. She is smiling quite a bit...it changes her whole face. She is such a cutie! She turned 6 weeks yesterday and gave me the best gift! She slept through the night..10pm-6am. She did it again last night! She's a champ and I'm loving it! I must give credit to the book "Baby Wise". It works wonders for getting our kids on schedules!

Air Show

Bart took Cole to the Air Show yesterday at Andrew's Air Force Base. What a great Dad! They saw the Blue Angels perform as well as other air shows. They had the best time! Cole especially loved seeing all the planes and helicopters and watching them fly. They were always right above their heads and both Bart and Cole jumped more than once as they flew so close. We lathered Cole with sun screen but missed Bart and he paid for it! He got fried! It only takes once at the beginning of the summer, right?!

Blue Angels Performing

Soccer

Cole's first soccer season has come to a close. He had the best time and loved it even more because he was able to play with his friend, Alex. He was doing really well at handling the ball and scoring goals by the end of the season. We are so proud of him!

The Kids

It's been a crazy couple of weeks. Still trying to get adjusted...a couple cases of the stomach flu...trying to get everyone on a schedule....trying to catch some extra zzzz's when possible...Everyone is doing great.

Jayda. Took her to the doctor today for her 4 week check up. In 3 1/2 weeks, she went from 6lbs. 8 ounces to 9lbs. 10 ounces! Go Jayda! The doctor was impressed. She is becoming more alert and she tries to look around and see what is going on around her.
Sadie. Loves to get dressed up in her jewelry, she loves putting on everyone's shoes and walking around. The other day, she asked Bart to follow her. Apparently he wasn't coming fast enough because she called out "Vominos, Amigos!" (I have no clue if I spelled that right.) It was so funny!
Cole. Is still loving soccer. He scored a couple goals yesterday and was super excited. He is such a big help to run around and get things for me. He always wants to know where Jayda is and if he can hold her and kiss her head. Cole and Sadie have become really good friends and enjoys racing each other around the house. They especially love to shout "on your mark, get set, go!" before each race.
We are enjoying the signs of spring. It's been raining lots the past couple of days, so we are looking forward to sunshine again!

Jayda at 1 month

Jayda will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday. My how time flies. She is such a sweet baby and we love her so much! She is filling out....getting some chubby cheeks and a double chin. It will be fun to go to the doctor on Friday and see how much she weighs. Once in awhile, she will entertain us with a quick smile and we are really anxious for the time when she can see well and starts smiling at us all the time.

COOL or GROSS?

Yesterday as Bart was mowing the lawn, the kids were out playing and exploring in the yard. I was in the house nursing Jayda and Bart called to me to get the camera because Cole and Sadie had found something really COOL. All excited, I grabbed the camera and headed outside. There was Cole, holding a huge worm. GROSS! That was my reaction. Funny how boys and girls are different (I must add that Sadie was loving it), which makes Dad more fun for this COOL find! Sadie was totally into it and loved playing with the worm. I just laughed, took some pictures and told Bart to make sure they washed their hands really good!

Visits

This past week has been so wonderful! My two older sisters, Carissa and Dawn, came to spend several days and my parents were able to come for a quick one day visit to see everyone. I love having family come! They all took such great care of our family. Cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, babysitting, letting me take naps, doing laundry, taking the kids on walks and outtings! I really appreciate all that they did.
Yesterday, Bart was able to take a half day off and he went with Carissa, Dawn and the kids on the metro into the city to see some monuments and museums. It ended up being quite a warm day and with all the walking, they were ready to sit down and have some cold water by the time they got home. I think they all had a great time. The kids especially loved having their aunts and grandparents come. Some life long memories were made.

Cole's Photography

Cole has been asking to take pictures for a long time. The past few weeks we have let him try his hand at photography and we thought we would post some of his work! He is getting better every day.
